Hello Community Members:
After having signed up for an account, it sometimes happens that you will not receive the systems confirmation email. So far, in all cases, this is due to either or both of the following:
1) Your institution blocks the email 'firstname.lastname@example.org'
2) Your institution blocks the email you used to sign up with. Lately we are seeing that '@hotmail.com' accounts are being blocked.
Unfortunately there is not much portfoliocommunities.com can do about this. As a workaround we suggest to do the following:
a) use your institutions email as your email
b) create an account when you are not at your institution.
Once the acocunt is created, all should work well. We are not aware of our site being blocked anywhere.
If you still continue to experience issue as described above, then please get in touch with us. We can create accounts manually or set you up so you can make accounts on your own bypassing the email based accound creation procedure.
